Duckworth Prestex at British Watchmakers’ Day
On Saturday 7th March, Duckworth Prestex will join many of Britain’s finest horological brands at British Watchmakers’ Day, a celebration of the creativity, innovation and heritage that define modern British watchmaking.
Organised by the Alliance of British Watch and Clock Makers, the event brings together a remarkable community of brands, collectors and enthusiasts. As the official trade body representing the majority of watch and clock making brands trading across the British Isles — including the Republic of Ireland — the Alliance plays a vital role in championing the future of the industry.
Its membership is broad and diverse, spanning world-renowned horologists, heritage brands revived by descendants of their founders, emerging independent watchmakers and design-led modern companies. What unites them is a shared commitment to advancing British watchmaking and supporting the next generation of makers.
British Watchmakers’ Day offers a rare opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to experience this vibrant sector firsthand.
Introducing New Prestex Releases
At the event, Duckworth Prestex will present several new releases, continuing the brand’s commitment to combining classic British design with modern mechanical craftsmanship.
Among the highlights will be the introduction of the Marcato Jumping Hour, one of the most distinctive watches ever produced by the brand.
Inspired by early 20th-century jump hour timepieces, the Marcato replaces the traditional hour hand with an instantaneous jumping hour display, delivering a crisp mechanical snap at the top of each hour. The watch is powered by the renowned Sellita SW300 automatic movement, enhanced by the bespoke Prestex JP1 jumping hour module, developed exclusively for the brand.
Housed in a refined 39mm stainless steel cushion case, the Marcato blends heritage design with contemporary proportions, offering a watch that feels both classic and unmistakably modern.
A Limited Edition Release
To mark the launch, the Marcato Jumping Hour will be released as a strictly limited edition of 75 pieces in each dial variation.
Four dial executions define the launch collection:
• All White Dial – clean, architectural and timeless
• Light Blue Guilloché Centre Dial – a contemporary interpretation with refined texture and subtle colour
• Silver Guilloché Centre Dial – classical craftsmanship with intricate dial depth
• Rose Gold Guilloché Centre Dial – warm, elegant tones paired with traditional guilloché detailing
Each dial variation highlights the distinctive architecture of the Marcato display, combining the jumping hour aperture with a central minute hand and finely detailed minute track.
Each piece will be available initially through a special pre-order launch price, offering early collectors the opportunity to secure one of the first production examples.
With production limited and demand expected to be strong, early reservation is strongly recommended for collectors attending the event.
